Talk about creating problems that don’t exist. It can’t interact with creatures. Pushing creature is an attack. Non existent problem solved by reading spell and rules …

Make a pole with T on top. Buy a 5X5 square of cloth, suspend the cloth from the T on the pole. Now have the servant hold up the cloth. This breaks line of sight and if the servant moves the cloth in between two creatures that would stop opportunity attacks. This is because you need to SEE the creature when it moves away from you. If you move behind the raised cloth, by RAW, you could take the hide action. Again if you move behind the raised cloth you are behind total cover. So you pop out cast a spell then pop behind total cover. Sure it won’t realistically stop every spell casters because they can move unless this happens in some hallway or cave. Just have some barrier stopping everyone from walking around tour make shift.

I've been a player/GM since shortly after the game's publishing. Being in the Navy at the time made being familiar with weapons and their effects pretty-much a given. One of the benefits of the 150-year "Over-sleep" is that the immediate effects of the Nuc. weapons has mitigated, as has much of the chemical. The Biologicals can be a bit more persistent, depending on the GM's choices of environmental factors. I've found that one of the main focuses of the game was team-forming, something that came very naturally to the military folks playing, this is something that gets instilled into you from day 1. For some of the civilian players, this can take a bit to absorb, but they either do, or drop out due to finding the game not to their liking, since they were looking to play stand-alone heroes, or didn't wrap their heads around the REAL technology being used. (Magic is NOT a factor!) As weapons have advanced past the post-Vietnam period, I've updated the Armory (Published in 1983 by Kevin Dockery) a book designed to accompany both Morrow Project and a few other games, which keeps things more interesting for younger players. I've tried doing the players-skills both as D20 and %ile, and I prefer the latter. For the basic stats, (Strength, Dex, etc) I go w/D20, and you pick where each roll goes, allowing you to craft your character into one more playable by you, and these variations on the original character-build rules work quite well. I like to pick places I am intimately-familiar with as locations, that way I can throw in unique twists for environment and encounters. This gives me plenty to choose from, such as the Chesapeake region, Upstate NY, central AZ, Bay area, Puget sound, and is something I recommend to all GMs. I've not bothered w/4th edition, since the rules in the 1st ed. still work just fine.

What most appealed about the game to my friends and I was that unlike other post-apocalyptic RPGs the primary goal for the players was to help rebuild civilization rather than just explore and survive in a devastated world. In one campaign I ran the team became a troupe of travelling players. They performed 'magic' shows with electric torches but also educational plays like "How The Clever Farmer Defeated Potato Blight" (or whatever agricultural problems the locals faced), "The Well And The Midden" (basic hygiene), and "The Wise Housewife" (lessons in domestic hygiene). This kept the team moving from settlement to settlement while they searched for other Morrow Project teams, and encountered new areas to explore and have adventures in. There was also the advantage that anything the player characters said or did that might seem odd during NPC encounters could be explained away by the fact that they had travelled from 'far away'. (In reality about 50km and 150 years.) There was also an ongoing side-quest to establish a long-distance communications network based on semaphore towers and heliographs since neither of these systems require electricity to function.

I would add the reason that Minotaurs and Gnolls don't like each other is because the races were made by Baphomet and Yeenoghu, who are Demon Lords with an eternal rivalry over who is truly the lord of beasts.

Star Frontiers Knight Hawks used some of Star Probe and Star Empires ship movements but sped up the calculation of jumps, ships became smaller, but they simplified jumps by putting everything on one plane but it is definitely using the same system, I crunched the math. The Tetrarchs in Star Empires timeline pop up again in Star Frontiers materials. There was also similarities between terminology in Knight Hawks and Star Empires. I really need to do an in-depth comparison and either drop it on my blog and/or do a RUclips video. I have fiddled with the games. Star Empires improves on SP and expands it, but it is in need of definite refinement. It has the first published Tech Levels I have seen so far, earlier than published Traveller.

I’ve given Caltrops and/or Ball Bearings to almost all of my humanoid NPCs for years. A low guard or low level thief ending a chase by throwing a dropping these behind them is a great trick. My players have yet to start carrying any themselves, though they do spend more time on the equipment pages than they used too. 😉 Cheers!

Five years have passed since you made your video, but I have only just now discovered that. An aquaintance of mine had bought Universe and thought to start a campaign. He asked if I wanted to make a character, and so I did. However, we never did start the campaign, which is a pity because I thought that the game setting sounded interesting. There seemed to be a Dune influence, because there was an equivalent to Guild Navigators, which is what I was going to play. I still have my character sheet. I was going to play a Master Scout with psionic powers, along with plenty of science and combat skills. My character evidently came from a planet with mountains, because I was best suited for using skills in mountain terrain.

Those are all easy ruling for me.. US is not a creature and not an ally and so it can't give you help and advantage in combat. Any ingenious way the players come up with is only flavour to get the advantage, which can't be done, therefore, doesn't work. It could pour poison on food, it could tie shoes together, it can take items from behind the counter and put it in your bag. But easily fixable by the ruling that it can't do stealth checks and people can see it. So you can only get away with it if nobody is watching, and therefore, anybody could do it anyway.

The five-room dungeon model is meant to be used for one-shot sessions, and introductions to a game. Or maybe a side trek for when all of your players can’t make it to the game and you had something really big planned for them. It is not meant to be used for grand-scale campaigns. I have been a DM since 1981, and I can’t count how many times a “grand campaign” has died on the vine because real life hotnin the way of a group meeting up, or perhaps just ageneral lack of interest in playing an rpg. Let’s face it, role-playing games are not everyone’s bag. So you create a short episode to whet the appetite of your players. And if they get hooked, you can hit them with the grand plot. The Five-room Dungeon is not useless. It has it’s place, and is often more effective than a grand campaign, at satuating a player’s desire for adventure.

The spell says what the spell can do. It can "move up to 15 feet and interact with an object," provided you use a bonus action to command it to do so. Most of these are just a flat no because they aren't interacting with an object.

We always figured that these were supposed to be the "Heroes" and used the best 3 out of 4 method. And if you wanted to be a specific class, that you could roll up characters until you got one that qualified for that class. I imagine that it could take all night before you rolled one that had the stats to be a Paladin.
